USRRC: The Coffee Critic and Huffaker/Qvale Finish Third at Mid Ohio

7 June 1999

LEXINGTON, Ohio: Chris Neville in The Coffee Critic Cobra
#84, and Dorsey Schroeder in The Coffee Critic Cobra #47 put on a great show
at the SCCAs BFGoodrich Tires Trans-Am Series race at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car
Course, part of the U.S. Road Racing Classic on Sunday, June 6, 1999.

Neville, for the second week in a row, finished on the podium, coming home
third after a spirited duel with rookie G. J. Mennen. "G. J. definitely
didn’t drive a rookie race today," said Neville, himself the 1998 Trans-Am
Rookie of the Year. "He got a good run at me down the backstraight about
three laps from the end, and got under me. I let him stay there about a lap
and a half, and then I got a good run at him and passed him into Turn One on
the last lap. I ran in third all day; I didn’t want to give that up at the
end." The race was won by defending Trans-Am champ Paul Gentilozzi.

Dorsey, once again providing live commentary to the Speedvision telecast
while racing, brought his car from seventh up as high as fourth, before
falling back to fifth at the finish. "This is really one of the best deals in
Trans-Am for sponsor exposure," noted Bruce Qvale, one of the two principals
in Huffaker/Qvale Motorsports. "Having Dorsey not only racing, but providing
commentary, guarantees a higher level of exposure than is possible any other
way."

The Huffaker/Qvale crew worked hard in the days between Lime Rock and
Mid-Ohio, completely revamping the front suspension of the #47 car as they
continue to develop the chassis. "It’s been such a great experience to have
Dorsey in the car at Lime Rock, and again this weekend," said other
Huffaker/Qvale principal, Joe Huffaker. "He has really been helpful in our
ongoing development of the car. We got a bit behind, but I think we’re on the
right track now. It was good to see both Dorsey and Chris able to run at the
front this weekend." Huffaker Engineering is rapidly becoming THE place for
Trans-Am chassis repair and updates. Since Long Beach, they have not only
done extensive work on their own cars, but those of Trans-Am points leader
Brian Simo, and Randy Ruhlman as well.
