The Coffee Critic and Huffaker/Qvale at Mid-Ohio

4 June 1999

THE COFFEE CRITIC AND HUFFAKER/QVALE TO FIELD
NEVILLE AND SCHROEDER AGAIN AT MID-OHIO

LEXINGTON, Ohio (June 4, 1999): West coast coffee and tea wholesaler and
retailer Linda Mountanos and The Coffee Critic will again sponsor a two-car,
Huffaker/Qvale Motorsports entry this weekend as the Sports Car Club of
America’s BFGoodrich Tires Trans-Am Series comes to the Mid-Ohio Sports Car
Course for the U.S. Road Racing Classic Weekend, June 4-6.

Chris Neville, the 1998 Trans-Am Rookie of the year, will once again be in
The Coffee Critic Cobra #84, the same car he qualified on the pole for the
Trans-Am season opener at Long Beach, Calif., and that he took to a fine
second-place finish last weekend at Lime Rock, Conn.

In The Coffee Critic #47 for the second straight weekend will be former
Trans-Am champion Dorsey Schroeder. The car has been renumbered 47 in memory
of long-time St. Louis racer and mechanic Bob Hubbard, who passed away June 2
after a battle with cancer. Hubbard was a friend of Huffaker/Qvale principal,
Joe Huffaker, as well as of Schroeder, noted racing photographer Mark Weber,
and many others in the racing community. "Bob was really instrumental in
getting my career off the ground," noted Schroeder. "This was something we
really wanted to do."

The Huffaker/Qvale crew has been hard at work in the days between Lime Rock
and Mid-Ohio, completely revamping the front suspension of the #47 car as
they continue to develop the chassis. "It’s been such a great experience to
have Dorsey in the car at Lime Rock, and again this weekend," said Huffaker.
"He has really been helpful in our ongoing development of the car. We got a
bit behind, but I think we’re on the right track now. The suspension designs
on both the #47 and #84 cars are now the same, but we’ll be trying different
setups on each this weekend to speed up the development process. Hopefully,
both Dorsey and Chris will be able to run at the front this weekend."
Huffaker Engineering is rapidly becoming THE place for Trans-Am chassis
repair and updates. Since Long Beach, they have not only done extensive work
on their own cars, but those of Trans-Am points leader Brian Simo, and Randy
Ruhlman as well.
