Cooper Tire & Rubber Company Announces Geers Named Vice President

    FINDLAY, Ohio--June 3, 1999--COOPER TIRE & RUBBER COMPANY recently named James H. Geers as vice president of human resources for the corporation.
    In this new capacity, Geers will continue to direct activities in the area of corporate industrial relations, employee benefits and health along with safety and security activities. Additional responsibilities will include compensation programs, employment law compliance and salaried personnel.
    During his 31-year Cooper career, Geers has held positions in industrial engineering and as manager of industrial relations for the Findlay and Texarkana tire plants. Most recently he served as the director for industrial relations for the corporation, a position he has held since 1984.
    Geers attended the University of Findlay, Findlay, Ohio, majoring in management and economics and completed the advanced management program at Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, Ohio. A U.S. Marine Corp veteran, Geers is a member of the Rubber Manufacturers Association Industrial Relations Committee.
