Porsche Reports Best May U.S. Sales Since 1987 With Sixteen Percent Increase; Year-to-Date Sales Increase by Thirty-Six Percent
ATLANTA, June 3 -- Porsche Cars North America, importer and
distributor of Porsche sports cars in the United States, today announced sales
and stock figures for the month of May 1999. Boxster sales totaled 1374 units
for the month resulting in a 23 percent increase over 1998. Porsche 911 sales
totaled 994 units resulting in a seven percent increase over the same month
last year. Porsche also reported its best May since 1987 with an increase of
16 percent in monthly sales, resulting in a 36 percent increase for the 1999
calendar year to date.
