Compomotive is Newest ProRally Contingency Sponsor

4 June 1999

ENGLEWOOD, Colorado — Compomotive Wheels, whose light-alloy
wheels are strong contenders in numerous forms of motorsports, has
become the newest contingency sponsor to join the Michelin SCCA
ProRally Championship. Through their distributor, Motorsport
Specialties, their awards will be available to all licensed SCCA
ProRally teams, as well as to teams competing in ClubRally events held
in conjunction with a ProRally.
The program is open to competitors in all five "pro" classes —
Open, Group 5, Group 2, Production GT and Production. It pays cash
awards to competitors in the ProRally series, and cash or credit to
teams in ClubRally events. ProRally competitors who have Compomotive
Wheels installed at all four corners, and who have Compomotive decals
displayed on their cars, are eligible for $75 for first place in their
class, $35 for second and $25 for third.
ClubRallyists can receive $35 for a class win or $20 for second.
The award is in cash if they have Compomotives at all four corners and
carry Compomotive decals on the car. Those who only display the decals
will receive credits in the same amounts. ClubRally awards are for
those events held in support of a ProRally.
The program gets underway this weekend at the Susquehannock Trail
ProRally, round four of the 1999 championship, which will be held
scenic Wellsboro, Pa.
At the same time, longtime ProRally supporter Rallysport, Inc.,
has increased its involvement with the sport.
The company has been named Official Fanwear and Memorabilia
Distributor of the Michelin SCCA ProRally Championship, as well as for
the companion SCCA ClubRally Championship.
Rallysport's offerings feature an impressive lineup of videos and
books covering rallying, touring cars, Formula 1and vintage racing, as
well as instructional works on how to get started in performance
rallying. Rally videos include hot action from the US, Canadian,
British and World Rally Championship circuits. On top of this there is
an extensive array of shirts, jackets, hats and accessories from
well-known rally and racing teams, plus manufacturers. This includes
the Got Balls apparel line, the Official Racewear of the Michelin SCCA
ProRally Championship.
Like the Compomotive program, Rallysport's stepped-up involvement
gets underway this weekend in Wellsboro, at Susquehannock Trail.
