Daewoo Sales Continue to Climb in MayCOMPTON, Calif., June 2 -- Sales of Daewoo automobiles continue to increase on a steady basis as the number of retail sales outlets continues to grow in the U.S. Daewoo Motor America announced sales of 2521 units for the month of May. The company sold 573 Lanos sub-compact models; 583 Nubira compact models and 1365 Leganza mid-size models during the 25-day sales period. Daewoo Motor America now has a total of 50 retail sales outlets: 25 company-owned retail stores and 25 franchise dealers. The company is continuing its aggressive sales distribution activities with the scheduled opening of additional company-owned stores and franchise dealers in June. As Daewoo moves into a market area, the company's first priority is to establish a service network. Daewoo uses company-owned base stores, franchise dealers, and Authorized Service Centers to perform scheduled maintenance and warranty service. Daewoo's extensive service network now totals 333 outlets, which includes 25 Daewoo base stores, 25 Daewoo franchise dealers, 211 Penske Auto Centers, 57 Cross Country Group service centers and 15 independent service centers. Daewoo Motor America is the U.S. automotive sales arm of Daewoo Group based in Seoul, South Korea.
