Infiniti Announces May Sales
          Division Reports a 22.9 Percent Increase Versus a Year Ago

    CARSON, Calif., June 2 -- Infiniti, the luxury division of
Nissan North America, Inc. (NNA), reported total May sales of 5,138 units, an
increase of 22.9 percent versus the previous year.
    The G20, Infiniti's luxury sports sedan, maintained solid momentum with
1,284 units retailed in May, an increase of 24.7 percent over the previous
month.  Infiniti's QX4 followed with total unit sales of 1,363 units, an
increase of 11.7 percent versus the previous year.
    The I30, Infiniti's volume sales leader, reported sales of 1,994 units.
The Q45, Infiniti's flagship luxury performance sedan had total sales of
495 units.
    "I'm excited to see that our May sales are a good indication that the
G20 and the rest of the Infiniti line up are positioned to capture more buyers
in the growing luxury market," said Tom Orbe, vice president and general
manager of the Infiniti division.
    "The all-new 2000 model year Infiniti I30 available late-summer will
further add to our momentum in the luxury segment with its ground breaking
styling and performance," said Orbe.
    Nissan North America, Inc., sales for May including Nissan and Infiniti
Divisions, totaled 58,357 units, a 10.1 percent increase versus last year.
