Land Rover Announces Record May SalesLANHAM, Md., June 2 -- Land Rover North America, Inc., today reported May 1999 sales of 2,277 units, the strongest May results in company history. Year-to-date sale of 10,917 vehicles puts Land Rover North America on track for its best year ever and up over 44 percent compared to the same period in 1998. "Both Range Rover and the all-new Discovery Series II continue to be in strong demand," said Charles R. Hughes, president of Land Rover North America. "Supply issues are the biggest concern at this point, as we continue to work very hard to get the right mix of Discovery Series IIs into the market -- the demand for seven-seat models and vehicles with Active Cornering Enhancement is very high."
