Starting at less than $20,000, the Mazda MPV is the lowest-priced import minivan on the market. With a superb combination of style, practicality and value, the least expensive DX model is well equipped and has a base manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) of only $19,995. The MPV DX includes standard features like a 2.5-liter four-cam V6, four-speed automatic transmission, air conditioning, power steering, a four-speaker AM/FM/CD audio system, tilt steering column, roll-down sliding door windows, body-color bumpers, variable intermittent wipers and intermittent rear wiper and an air filtration system. The base MSRP for the MPV LX is $22,040, and includes an anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brake force distribution, power front and rear windows and door locks, heated power mirrors, privacy glass, cruise control, second-row fore/aft seat adjustments and driver's seat cushion height/tilt adjustment. At a base MSRP of $25,540, the top-of-the-line ES model is the lowest-priced import minivan with leather. The ES model adds leather seating surfaces, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, wood-tone trim, rear air conditioning, front side air bags, nine-speaker Super Sound system and keyless entry security system and immobilizer system. "With the new MPV, Mazda is back in the minivan segment with an outstanding vehicle at a very competitive price," said Richard Beattie, president and CEO of MNAO. "We believe the MPV has the style and insightful touches that minivan buyers are looking for, and it gives our dealers a strong entry in a segment we haven't competed in for some time." The all-new Mazda MPV begins arriving in Mazda dealerships in July, and features class-leading seating versatility with innovative Side-by-Slide(TM) removable second-row seats and a Tumble-Under(TM) third-row seat with a tailgate feature. The dual sliding doors incorporate power windows on LX and ES models, a feature exclusive to the MPV. Additionally, the optional six-disc in-dash CD changer with 180 watts and nine speakers turns the premium audio system into a surround-sound jukebox. With styling that gets noticed, the MPV expresses a sporty personality and youthful individuality that younger minivan buyers are looking for. And Mazda's award-winning OptiSpace design philosophy results in clever interior design and packaging, achieving a spacious, highly functional cabin. For greater occupant protection, the new MPV also features dual depowered air bags, available front seat side air bags, Mazda's hallmark "Triple H" body construction, front and rear crumple zones, side impact door beams and four-wheel ABS.
