The 1999 Suzuki Grand Vitara Special Edition Gives New Meaning to Its Grand Name
BREA, Calif.--(AutomotiveWire)--June 1, 1999--The Suzuki Grand Vitara Special Edition offers the same V6 power, four-wheel drive and exceptional value as every Grand Vitara, but with added goodies, it travels commuter highways and off-road terrain with a distinctive style all its own."There isn't another small SUV that has our Grand Vitara Special Edition's features, capabilities and eye-catching style," said Gary Anderson, vice president of sales and marketing for American Suzuki Motor Corporation Automotive Division.
ADDED GRAND FEATURES
The Grand Vitara Special Edition is equipped with all of the standard features of the Grand Vitara JS and JLX including: a 2.5-liter, V6, DOHC engine and shift-on-the-fly four-wheel drive. However, Suzuki takes Grand Vitara's sleek design another step forward. The Special Edition Grand Vitara comes with Polar White paint, white alloy wheels, a front grille guard, side-step boards for easier entry, a center armrest, 18 storage compartments, a rear spoiler and a matching hard spare tire cover. Anderson adds, "We built the Special Edition exclusively for that unique customer who enjoys an active, yet sophisticated lifestyle. These owners want to traverse rugged off-road trails and still look stylish when pulling up to the valet at the symphony."
GRAND VALUE
"There is no other small SUV that can match the value of our Special Edition," said Anderson. "The suggested retail price is not only lower than the competition, it includes more features. Anderson adds, "Sportage, RAV4 and CR-V buyers are not only likely to have spent more money, they've settled for a four-cylinder engine, less horsepower and less distinctive styling."
GRAND STYLE
The 1999 Suzuki Grand Vitara Special Edition has a limited production of only 500 units. Four hundred and twenty units are the four-wheel drive JLX, while 80 units are the two-wheel drive JS. "Our Special Edition Grand Vitara might be considered a classic SUV one day because of its special features and limited production," said Anderson.
