Lime Rock Entry Hopes for Caffine Rush

31 May 1999

THE COFFEE CRITIC AND HUFFAKER/QVALE TO FIELD
SCHROEDER AND NEVILLE AT LIME ROCK

LAKEVILLE, Conn. (May 29, 1999); West coast coffee and tea retailer and wholesaler Linda Mountanos
and The Coffee Critic will sponsor a two-car, Huffaker/Qvale effort at Lime Rock Park for
round three of the Sports Car Club of America’s BFGoodrich Tires Trans-Am Series,
part of the Dodge Dealers Grand Prix May 29-31.

Chris Neville, 1998 Trans-Am Rookie of the Year and fourth-place finisher at last week’s
Mosport Trans-Am race, will be back in the #84 Coffee Critic Cobra, hoping to post
another solid run at the front in the new, Huffaker Engineering-built chassis that
Neville put on the pole for the Long Beach season opener.

In a deal that came together only at the last minute, former Trans-Am champion Dorsey
Schroeder will race in the second Huffaker/Qvale machine, the same updated chassis
which Stu Hayner raced at Mosport last weekend. In an emotional gesture, the car will
be renumbered as the #47 Coffee Critic Cobra. The number #47 holds special meaning for
Huffaker/Qvale principal Joe Huffaker, as well as Schroeder.

"We are changing the number on to #47 for the next two races," said Huffaker,
"in honor of Bob Hubbard, a long-time St. Louis area racer and mechanic who is a great
friend of mine, as he is of Dorsey and many other racers. I believe Dorsey may even
have raced against him in his early club days. Bob is dying of cancer, and may not
even make it through the weekend. He was thrilled to hear that Dorsey would be in our car.
I told him that he’d better make it through the weekend so he could watch the race
on Monday."

"Bob did as much as anyone to get my racing career off the ground," added Schroeder.
"This was something we both wanted to do."
