Stars will preview rally battle Reigning British rally champion Martin Rowe and the 1999 championship leader Tapio Laukkanen will be among the rally stars talking about their tactics for the RSAC Scottish Rally at a rally forum in Glasgow on Thursday, June 3. They will be joined on the panel by a selection of other rally stars and well known Scottish personalities. The RSAC Scottish Rally is the third round of the six-round Mobil 1 British Rally Championship. Organised by the Royal Scottish Automobile Club (Motor Sport) Ltd and supported by Dumfries and Galloway Council, it is also a counter in the Scottish Rally Championship supported by Tyresafe and the British Junior Rally Championship. In addition to the international rally there are three supporting events - the RSAC Scottish Historic Rally and the RSAC Formula 1400 Rally (which both precede the international rally on Friday) and the RSAC National Rally (which precedes the international rally on Saturday). The RSAC Scottish Rally will start at 9 am from Whitesands, Dumfries on Friday, June 11 (the first car in the historic rally leaving two hours earlier at 7 am). After an overnight halt in Dumfries, the rally restarts at 8 am on Saturday (with the national rally crews leaving two hours earlier at 6 am) for a loop through Dumfries and Galloway. The Michelin Tyres rally forum starts at 7.00pm on Thursday, June 3 in the Blythswood Suite at the Royal Scottish Automobile Club, 11 Blythswood Square, Glasgow. Tickets are available, free of charge, from the Royal Scottish Automobile Club and all four ATS Euromaster branches in Glasgow. Stuart McCrudden, organiser of the Michelin Forum, aims to bring a new look to the traditional rally forum. "I want to get the professionals talking - tips from photographers on taking the best shots and a team engineer with some basic mechanical tips," he said. An additional attraction of the forum will be a video quiz. The lucky winner will have the chance of a ride with top British rally ace Colin McRae in the Focus on test".
