Owatonna, MN - May 1999 - OTC's new Patent Pending StrutTamer for
MacPherson Strut Springs is simply the safest, most effective
compressor for handling virtually any 2 1/2" to 10" diameter,
straight, conical or offset spring up to 24" long. To accommodate the
variety of springs, the No. 6070 features four specially designed
adjustable clamping arms that are attached to ball joints, making it
truly a universal tool! For added safety, the StrutTamers exclusive
four-point locking jaws securely hold the spring in place for optimum
safety. To keep the strut assembly straight during compression, OTC's
exclusive adjustable double-lead center screw keeps the strut and
spring aligned - mo matter what shape the spring is. The double-lead
screw also compresses the spring faster and easier than any
comparable model down to 2 1/2".

Mounting the StrutTamer to a workbench or to the wall is quick and
easy. That's because there's no special mounting hardware! Or, you
can choose the option StrutTamer stand, No. 6071. It features a
one-piece welded steel frame construction with a handle, and two
wheels that allow the technician to easily tilt the stand back and
move the entire unit to the work area. To keep it firmly in place
during compression, the wheels lift off the floor, and four no-slip
rubber pads keep the stand firmly in place during operation.
