Award-Winning Commitment to Quality Manufacturing at Hayes Lemmerz Is Recognized by Industry LeadersROMULUS, Mich., May 25 -- Hayes Lemmerz International, Inc. , one of the leading suppliers of automotive and commercial highway wheels, brakes, suspension, structural and other light weight components to the global transportation industry, proudly announced today that it has received the Gold Pentastar Award from DaimlerChrysler for three of its aluminum wheel manufacturing facilities in the U.S. This marks the second year in a row that the Company's Howell, Michigan; LaMirada, California; and Gainesville, Georgia facilities have received the distinguished award. The Gold PentaStar is awarded to suppliers that achieve excellent performance in the areas of parts quality, delivery performance and warranty reduction. In addition, the Company proudly acknowledges that its Huntington, Indiana aluminum wheel facility has received the Quality Achievement Award from Suburu-Isuzu Automotive (SIA) for the facility's outstanding performance in product quality. During 1998, the facility did not ship any non-conforming parts to SIA.
