DETROIT, May 24 -- Findlay Industries will be the title
sponsor of the 2nd Annual Automotive & Transportation Interiors Scholarship
Golf Classic being held in conjunction with the Automotive & Transportation
Interiors Expo and Conference at Cobo Center June 8-10.
Proceeds from the tournament will be donated in the form of scholarships
to outstanding students in automotive design programs at this year's three
designated scholarship schools -- Central Michigan University, Cleveland
Institute of Art and Miami University of Ohio.
The tournament, Monday, June 7, will begin with a 9 a.m. shotgun start at
Tanglewood Golf Club in South Lyon, Mich., followed by a 2:30 p.m. awards
ceremony.
Findlay Industries was the inaugural sponsor of the Golf Classic last
year, and the company has been a long-time supporter of the Automotive &
Transportation Interiors Scholarship Awards Banquet. It also supports
interior design projects at Detroit's Center for Creative Studies.
"We firmly believe that investing in the future of the interior trim
business through educational scholarships will benefit the industry in the
long run," said Tom Leffler, Findlay's marketing manager. "This year,
deserving students from three outstanding schools which support the automotive
industry will receive direct financial support from the Golf Classic."
"We are glad to work in conjunction with Findlay Industries to help
support the industry's future," said Richard Lebovitz, co-publisher/editor of
Automotive & Transportation Interiors magazine. "This golf tournament is a
great opportunity for professionals, attendees and corporate sponsors to help
raise money for this valuable scholarship program."
