E. Gilbert Leon Jr. Joins Helisys, Inc. as Vice President of Finance and Administration

    TORRANCE, Calif.--May 24, 1999--E. Gilbert Leon Jr. has been appointed vice president of finance and administration for Helisys Inc. (OTC BB:HELI), manufacturer of systems for rapid prototyping using its proprietary Laminated Object Manufacturing (LOM) technology, according to Gary S. Moskovitz, president and chief executive officer.
    Leon will manage the daily finance, accounting and administrative operations of the Company, including the creation and maintenance of key financial models, reports and forecasting in support of the Company's critical success factors.
    Prior to accepting his new post, Leon served as vice president finance and administration, and chief financial officer for Hayden Industrial Products LLC of Corona, Calif., where he successfully managed the accounting, administrative and human resource functions of the Company.
    His career highlights also include serving as the corporate controller of Reid Plastics, and as the controller of Systemed Inc.
    "As a strategic thinker and financial specialist, Gil will manage fiscal policy and procedures for the Company which are integral to the successful strengthening of our operations," said Moskovitz.
    Helisys has shipped more then 315 LOM systems, now operating in 35 countries, and is actively pursuing a variety of initiatives in the areas of sales and marketing and new product development.
    Helisys develops and manufactures systems for creating product prototypes, physical models, industrial patterns, molds, and production tooling directly from three-dimensional computer-generated designs using its proprietary LOM technology.
    Helisys' LOM systems are instrumental in bringing products to market faster for manufacturers of automobiles, toys, appliances, sporting goods, footwear, electronic hardware, medical devices, industrial equipment, aerospace components, and other products.
