Power Lift Expands Into Los Angeles Harbor

LOS ANGELES--May 24, 1999--Power Lift Corp., the exclusive Caterpillar and Kalmar Lift Truck distributor in Los Angeles County, Orange County and the San Fernando Valley, has added a new fourth facility, in Long Beach.
Power Lift now has the most locations of any material-handling company in Southern California, with additional sites in Pico Rivera, Chatsworth and Anaheim.
Power Lift's new Long Beach building is strategically located at 1629 W. Anaheim St., which is within five to 10 minutes' access of the 91, 110, 710, 405 and PCH freeways. The phone number of the location is 562/901-0100. The new facility brings Power Lift closer to its harbor customers, which will enhance response time to the region.
As Richard Cowan, Power Lift's president, stated: "The harbor companies need to unload cargo containers quickly and cannot afford any downtime. We are committed to providing the fastest service in the industry with this new Long Beach location. In fact, Power Lift is the only major material-handling company that has invested in a Long Beach harbor site.
"Our Long Beach facility will have its own on-site parts stockroom so that clients can minimize downtime when they need replacement parts immediately. We will also have several service technicians conveniently based there so that we can provide quicker turnaround time in servicing our harbor-area customers."
With this expansion, Power Lift continues its extraordinary growth record; from its 1993 inception, sales revenue grew from $252,000 in 1993 to $53 million in 1998. In recognition of its outstanding growth, Inc. magazine recently named Power Lift as the second-fastest-growing private company in America.
According to Cowan: "We believe that the harbor area's rapid growth rates present a big opportunity for Power Lift. Along with our recent acquisition of Certified Lift and becoming the Kalmar dealer, our investment in this new Long Beach site will help us to service the harbor segment's specialized needs and continue our rapid growth."
Power Lift continues its mission "to create solutions that move the products that serve the world." As the total productivity partner with the broadest product line in the industry, Power Lift supplies more than Caterpillar and Kalmar lift trucks -- it also supplies operator safety and technical training, quality service, E-Z Go personnel carriers and Advance cleaning equipment.
In addition to having the largest rental fleet on the West Coast, Power Lift provides parts and service for all makes and models of equipment. Power Lift also offers warehouse-systems consulting through its M.E. Canfield division.
