Bayer Corporation Hires New Therban Technical Specialist

    AKRON, Ohio--(AutomotiveWire)--May 21, 1999--Nabil Boufakhreddine has joined Bayer Corporation as a Technical Service Specialist for Therban(R).
    Mr. Boufakhreddine, who officially started April 5, 1999, works at Bayer's Akron, Ohio, site under the company's Fibers, Additives and Rubber (FAR) Division for the Therban HNBR business.
    With 16 years of experience in the rubber industry, Mr. Boufakhreddine is the newest member of the Therban Team, a cross-disciplinary group of individuals from FAR committed to promoting Therban. Therban, an innovative specialty elastomer invented and patented by Bayer, gives products superior performance and durability in applications where extreme temperature, fuel, oil, ozone or abrasion exists. Mr. Boufakhreddine will give a special focus to the needs of the static and dynamic seal markets.
    In addition to his responsibilities with application development, Mr. Boufakhreddine works with Therban customers on technical applications of polymers and chemicals.
    Prior to joining Bayer, Mr. Boufakhreddine served as vice president of research and development of a manufacturing company where he worked with brake seals for the automotive industry. Mr. Boufakhreddine holds bachelors degrees in biology and chemistry from Middle Tennessee State University as well as degrees in experimental science and philosophy that he earned in Lebanon, his native country.
