EnV'99 Offers Latest Technology in Electric Vehicles, Alternative Fuels and Hybrids
    SOUTHFIELD, Mich., May 21 -- ESD The Engineering Society
presents the latest in technology at the annual Environmental and Advanced
Technology Vehicles and Alternative Fuels Conference and Exposition (EnV'99),
June 13-16, 1999 at the Ypsilanti Marriott at Eagle Crest.
    The mission of EnV'99 is to hold sessions that address the technical,
governmental and infrastructural issues facing environmental vehicles today.
The conference will feature topics such as Transportation for the 21st
Century, Globalization and Policy, Infrastructure, Marketing/Vehicle Overview,
Materials and Manufacturing Components and Propulsion.  An exhibition, open
daily 10 a.m.-5 p.m., of advanced components and vehicles will be displayed
with suppliers and OEMs describing their ideas and innovations.  Defining
state-of-the-art direction of low emission vehicles will provide suppliers,
OEMs, fleet owners, government regulators and researchers with invaluable
knowledge to facilitate the expansion of this market.
    A private Ride & Drive for the press, who will have the opportunity to
actually experience driving vehicles designed to take us into the new
millennium powered by electricity and alternative fuels, will be held on
Sunday, June 13 from 12-2 p.m. at the Ypsilanti Marriott at Eagle Crest.  This
private Ride & Drive will be kicked off at noon by the DaimlerChrysler pace
car.
    The Ride and Drive will then become open to the general public, press and
conference attendees from 3-5 p.m.  This rare opportunity to experience the
future at its greatest will include advanced vehicles from DaimlerChrysler,
Honda, Nissan, Toyota, General Motors, Electromotive, Inc., EV News, Virginia
Tech and Air Surrey Natural Gas Vehicles.
