Dana's Plumley Division Completes Renovation and Expansion of State-of-the-Art Rubber Products Design Center

    PARIS, Tenn., May 20 -- Dana Corporation's
Plumley division completed a 13,000 square-foot renovation and expansion
program to double the size of the laboratory in its Rubber Products Design
Center located at the division's headquarters in Paris, Tenn.  The new
facility will accelerate the development of new rubber compounds and materials
used in Plumley's extensive line of tube and hose products supplied to many of
the leading original equipment manufacturers in the automotive, marine, and
small engine industries.
    In addition to expanding its research and development capacity, cycle time
for new product development will also be significantly improved as Plumley
engineers and quality analysts will all now be able to work under one roof.

Plumley's extruded products.  "Our new design center is a clear demonstration
of our commitment to product and technology leadership and to supporting our
global customers' goal of improving speed-to-market for new engines and
vehicles."
    The Plumley Rubber Products Design Center's A2LA-accredited laboratory has
tested over 3,500 elastomeric compounds with emphasis on durability,
elasticity, flexibility, heat, permeation, chemical resistance, and
environmental conditions.
