Dale Walker Joins Ford Credit as President, Personal Financial Services
    DEARBORN, Mich., May 20 -- Continuing its diversification in
the financial services industry, Ford Motor Credit Company today announced the
appointment of Dale Walker, president, Personal Financial Services.  Joining
from American International Group (AIG) where he served as president and chief
executive officer of AIG Consumer Finance Group, Walker will lead Ford's
personal finance business.
    In his new position, Walker reports to Philippe Paillart, president, Ford
Financial Services Group, the finance arm of Ford Motor Company .
Said Paillart, "Dale Walker has an excellent reputation in the insurance and
finance industries and we are pleased to attract such top quality talent.  His
previous experience growing AIG's consumer finance business is directly
relevant to Ford Credit's goal and we look forward to working with him to
launch a broader range of insurance and financial services to Ford consumers.
    "Ford Credit has an excellent reputation in automotive financing through
its consumer-focused products, strong relations with dealers and quality-
driven processes," said Paillart.  "This has propelled us into a leadership
position in the USA as well as internationally.  This is a strong base as we
look at ways to deepen our relationships with Ford customers and create
financial products and services to meet their needs.

alone, it provided financing for the sale or lease of four million new and
used vehicles around the world.  Ford Credit has a receivables base of more
than $140 billion in its worldwide managed operations and a workforce of more
