Federal-Mogul Appoints Ron Comer, Vice President, Manufacturing Operations - North America, Sealing Systems, and Steve Neises, Director of Plant Operations, Skokie, Illinois, Sealing SystemsSOUTHFIELD, Mich., May 20 -- Rick Streicher, vice president, Sealing Systems - Americas, Federal-Mogul Corporation announces the following organizational appointments effective immediately: * Ron Comer, vice president, manufacturing operations - North America, Sealing Systems * Steve Neises, director of plant operations, Skokie, Illinois, Sealing Systems Ron Comer, Vice President, Manufacturing Operations - North America, Sealing Systems Ron Comer has been appointed vice president, manufacturing operations - North America, Sealing Systems. Comer will report to Streicher. "I am pleased to expand Ron's responsibilities," said Streicher. "He is a proven manufacturing leader who will enhance our ability to continuously improve the operation of our business while maintaining our focus on total customer satisfaction." Comer will assume responsibility for Federal-Mogul's Sealing Systems' facility in Skokie, Illinois, in addition to his current responsibility for seal, gasket and wiper blade manufacturing sites in Athens, Alabama; Summerton, South Carolina; Van Wert, Ohio; Frankfort, Indiana; Michigan City, Indiana; Milan, Michigan; and the Sealing Systems' facilities in Linan and Tepotzotlan, Mexico. Prior to this appointment, Comer held the position of director of operations, Sealing Systems. Comer joined Federal-Mogul in March 1998 when the company acquired T&N. Throughout his 27-year career with T&N, Comer held various manufacturing management positions with D.A.B. Industries, Inc., J.P. Industries, Inc. and McCord Payen, Inc. Comer earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration from Heidelberg College, Tiffin, Ohio. Steve Neises, Director of Plant Operations, Skokie, Illinois, Sealing Systems Steve Neises has been appointed director of plant operations, Skokie, Illinois, Sealing Systems. Neises will report to Comer. "Our customers will not only benefit from Steve's extensive knowledge of the Skokie operations, but also from his solid manufacturing engineering background," said Streicher. Prior to this appointment, Neises held the position of director, advanced manufacturing engineering, Sealing Systems. Neises joined Federal-Mogul as a result of the company's acquisition of Fel-Pro, in February 1998. Neises began his career with Fel-Pro in 1990 and has held positions such as chief manufacturing engineering, manager of metal and edge molded metal plate, unit manager and unit leader, original equipment head gaskets. Neises earned a Master of Science degree and a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. In conjunction with the above appointments, Eileen Heisler, currently Skokie plant manager will assume a new role reporting to Steve Neises.
