Pennzoil-Quaker State Company to Sponsor Houston Heart Walk

    HOUSTON, May 20 -- Pennzoil-Quaker State Company
today announced that it has signed on as the American Heart Association
Houston Heart Walk's "Presenting Sponsor" for the next three years.  James L.
Pate, the company's chairman and chief executive officer, will serve as the
American Heart Walk Chair for the 1999, 2000, and 2001 walks.
    "Our goal is to make this the biggest and best Houston Heart Walk each
year, with Pennzoil-Quaker State's walk team leading the way," said Mr. Pate.
"We are honored to join the American Heart Association in the ongoing fight to
reduce disability and death from cardiovascular diseases and stroke, the
leading cause of death in our country."
    American Heart Association, Houston Division, Executive Director Adrienne
Slaybaugh said, "After only three years, the Houston Heart Walk has become one
of the premier fundraising and awareness raising events in the state.  We

    The 1999 Houston Heart Walk will take place on Saturday, October 9 in Sam
