AutoNation, Inc. and Nissan North America Reach AgreementFORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., May 20 -- AutoNation, Inc. and Nissan North America, Inc. announced today that they have signed a framework agreement providing the basis for a direct business relationship with AutoNation, including terms for acquisition and ownership of Nissan and Infiniti automotive dealerships. The agreement also resolves the pending litigation in California between the two parties, while allowing AutoNation to co-brand its Nissan dealerships with the AutoNation brand. Specific terms of the agreement are confidential. Jed Connelly, Vice President, General Manager of the Nissan Division of Nissan North America, issued the following statement: "We have reached an agreement with AutoNation on the eve of the launch of the exciting new Maxima, Frontier Crew Cab, Desert Runner and category busting Xterra SUV. We are optimistic this will strengthen our relationship and serve as a foundation for a productive and prosperous association between AutoNation, Nissan North America and Nissan owners." Steven R.
