DaimlerChrysler Donates Funds to Oklahoma Disaster Relief FundAUBURN HILLS, Mich., May 19 -- DaimlerChrysler Corporation is teaming up with its dealer network to donate $120,000 to the Salvation Army and the American Red Cross-Disaster Relief Fund in the wake of the recent Oklahoma tornadoes. DaimlerChrysler and its dealers matched funds so that each organization will receive $60,000. The participating Chrysler, Plymouth, Jeep(R) and Dodge dealers are from the Oklahoma City metro-area and the Wichita, Kansas, area. In addition to the monetary contribution, DaimlerChrysler will offer a $500-$750 cash retail incentive on all Chrysler, Plymouth, Jeep(R) and Dodge -brand vehicles to the residents of the tornado-stricken areas in Kansas and Oklahoma. "It is the civic responsibility of companies to provide help whenever destruction of such magnitude occurs," said W. Frank Fountain Jr., Senior Vice President-Government Affairs and President, DaimlerChrysler Corporation Fund. "DaimlerChrysler wants to do its part to help with the revival of Oklahoma and its residents." Representatives from the Oklahoma American Red Cross and the Salvation Army accepted the donation at a special ceremony at the Oklahoma City headquarters of both organizations. "We are sensitive to what people are dealing with and want to help," said Bill Albert, Zone Manager-Kansas City Zone Office. Since 1995, the Chrysler Corporation Fund has contributed more than $1.4 million to the American Red Cross-Disaster Relief Fund and the Salvation Army.
