DaimlerChrysler Declares Dividend

    AUBURN HILLS, Mich., May 19 -- DaimlerChrysler AG
announced today that its Annual General Meeting of Shareholders on May 18,
1999 resolved to pay a dividend of DM4.60 (Euro 2.35) per share on the
company's capital stock.  The dividend is payable May 19, 1999 to shareholders
of record on May 18, 1999.  The dividend will be paid in U.S. dollars to
shareholders in the United States and Canada at the rate of $2.50 per share.
