Airsopure Unveils New Auto Unit

DALLAS--May 18, 1999--Airsopure, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of Airtech International Group, Inc. (OTC BB:AIRG) announced that it has commenced full-scale production on its revolutionary new automobile air filtration device: the Model S-999.
Research and development on the trunk-mounted device was finished in late 1998, and complete independent lab testing was conducted in April of 1999. The test results proved that the whisper-quiet trunk mounted unit removes over 90% of all airborne contamination inside automobiles, including dust, road tar, exhaust fumes, smoke and virtually all harmful VOCs - while completing up to 180 air changes an hour.
Recent national articles in USA Today, New Scientist, The Dallas Morning News and Sun Sentinel have reported that serious microbial contamination is present in alarming numbers inside automobiles nationwide. Support for the stories was based on a report by Robert Simmons, a microbiologist at Georgia State University and submitted to the American Society of Microbiology Conference in Miami Beach. After reviewing at random over thirty automobiles, researchers discovered more than a dozen fungi, with names such as cladosporium, aspergillus and penicillium in all the vehicles. These fungi can have significant health impact on the vehicles' drivers, affecting their judgment while operating a vehicle.
Other recent reports have concluded that the cabs of motor vehicles have become containers for harmful volatile organic compounds (VOCs). This contamination comes in the form of off gassing from the materials used in the manufacturing of vehicles, as well as, the glues used in construction. Many of these gases which take the form of that "new car smell" can generate harmful health effects and impede the judgement of their occupants. Some of the symptoms associated with fungi and VOCs include watery eyes, sore throats, headaches, lethargy and restricted breathing. Test results from the independent laboratory have concluded that the Airsopure 3-stage filtration process will capture these contaminants along with the increasing amount of diesel hydrocarbons and allergens being processed through the air systems or captured through open windows in most motor vehicles.
The initial production run of twenty-five thousand units has been earmarked for the thousands of police departments around the U.S. In addition to their concern over any contaminants which may affect maximum performance in the line of duty, an increase in the incidents of exposure to tuberculosis has been of concern to departments all over the country.
The Model S-999's powerful filtration system and ability to perform three complete air changes a minute should prove to be a deterrent to the threat of tuberculosis exposure along with immediate relief to all those suffering from allergies, asthma and other kinds of respiratory problems. This sector of the population makes up some 25% of that in the entire U.S., according to EPA reports.
The S-999's market, which appears to have no competitors, includes the $120 billion auto after-market industry. Today, over 16 million new cars and 20 million used cars are sold every year in the U.S. It is estimated that there are over 150-200 million used vehicles on the road in the U.S.
Projected demand for the S-999 has forced Airsopure to go outside its own manufacturing facilities and into the contract-manufacturing arena for backup production. Selection of the outside manufacturing was based on their ability to produce a minimum of 25,000 units a month at each location. The initial 25,000 order was manufactured by plants located in Nevada, Texas and Massachusetts. A fourth facility in Madrid, Spain is in the negotiation stage with the company to provide product for the European market.
