Recoton Names Arnie Kezsbom Chief Financial Officer

    LAKE MARY, FL--May 17, 1999--The Board of Directors of Recoton Corporation (Nasdaq National Market: RCOT) announced that Arnie Kezsbom has been promoted to the position of Senior Vice President-Finance and Chief Financial Officer for Company, effective May 5, 1999. In his new position, Mr. Kezsbom, 47, will be responsible for the planning, implementing and administering the Corporation's financial and accounting operations.
    Robert L. Borchardt, President and CEO, in making the announcement stated, "We are grateful to have a person with such talent and experience become our Chief Financial Officer. Arnie has the history, proven experience and financial industry background to lead our Company into the future. His varied background and experience within Recoton will enable him to properly oversee our operational needs and provide the necessary financial support for future growth."
    Mr. Kezsbom had served as Vice President-Financial Planning for Recoton since 1995 and as a Vice President of Recoton Canada Ltd. since 1994. He was Vice President, Sales and Marketing of the Ambico and Discwasher divisions from 1992 until 1995. Mr. Kezsbom was Vice President was Vice President/General Manager of Ambico, Inc. from 1991 until it was acquired by Recoton in 1992.
    Mr. Kezsbom replaces Stuart Mont, who held the position of Chief Financial Officer since 1992. Mr. Mont remains an active member of the Recoton management team as an Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, positions he has held since 1993.
