SFX Entertainment Announces Ford Mustang Sponsorship of "Rhythm On the Road" Tour

NEW YORK--May 13, 1999--SFX Entertainment, Inc. today announced that it has entered into an agreement with Ford Motor Company to implement its "Rhythm on the Road" concert tour, a key component in the continuing celebration of the 35th anniversary of its automotive icon, the Ford Mustang. Featuring superstar headliners The Cranberries with special guest Collective Soul, the tour will begin in early August, playing 18 cities across the country.
The anniversary celebration will feature on-site activities that especially appeal to the Mustang enthusiast. From Mustang Alley, a display of vintage Mustangs at the entrance of each venue, to a custom-made Mustang Fender guitar for giveaway at each show, the Rhythm on the Road tour will give music fans reason to celebrate the Mustang as they gather to enjoy a great live concert.
The tour will be headlined by multi-platinum alternative rock artists, The Cranberries, who are currently on a mini tour promoting their new album "Bury the Hatchet." Special guest, Collective Soul, whose recent single "Heavy" spent thirteen weeks as the No. 1 rock song on U. S. radio, will also perform.
On the tour, SFX will supervise all aspects of the Ford Mustang sponsorship, including incremental media placement, promotions and execution of on-site activities.
Mike Ferrel, Chief Executive Officer of SFX Entertainment, said, "We are proud to ally with Ford in presenting this great tour across America. It is one of those 'feel good' events which will draw a universal audience. Anyone who enjoys the sound of good music on a summer day, is apt to remember listening to the radio on the open road, and what better emblem of that carefree spirit than the timeless style of Ford's Mustang. We take great pride in being able to deliver to Ford this kind of excited, free wheeling audience, and we look forward to developing future programs which can also provide the kind of matchless marketing impact that only live entertainment can bring."
