    TROY, Mich., May 14 -- Paul H. Campbell, 39, has been
appointed Chief Executive Officer of Hutchinson FTS, Inc., with full
responsibility for all of its North American operations.

    Hutchinson FTS is the North American automotive supplier arm of Hutchinson
SA, of Paris, France.  Hutchinson FTS is a major supplier of automotive air
conditioner components and assemblies to the North American automotive
industry.
    Campbell previously was Vice President, North America, of Sales, Marketing
and Program Management of Faurecia, a car seating supplier subsidiary of the
Peugeot Company, with sales of $4.1 billion.  Faurecia formerly operated as
Bertrand Faure.
    While with Faurecia, Campbell had primary sales management responsibility
for several major customers, including Ford, General Motors, Chrysler, Honda,
Nissan, Johnson Controls, Lear Seating, Magna and Visteon.
    Campbell has spent his entire working career in the automotive supplier
industry.  He started out as a co-op student employee at a General Motors
plant in Janesville, Wisconsin, while attending G.S. Parker High School.
    He won a scholarship to attend General Motors Institute in Flint,
graduating with a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering degree.
    Campbell worked as a process engineer with General Motors, then was
promoted to assistant paint manager at GM's Lansing Craft Center Plant.
    Before joining Bertrand Faure, he spent five years as a plant manager,
with Huron Products, and then with Spartan Metal Finishing.
    Campbell is a Professional Engineer, registered in Michigan.  In addition
to his BSME, he holds a Master of Business Administration degree in finance
from Oakland University.
    He is a member of the SAE, the Engineering Society of Detroit and the
French American Chamber of Commerce.  A resident of Bloomfield Hills,
Michigan, Campbell is married to Harper West.
    Hutchinson FTS is headquartered in Troy, Michigan, where it operates a
product research, development and testing center, an advanced product
engineering center and a product engineering center.
    The Company operates two plants in Michigan, in Reading and Jonesville,
and two in Tennessee, in Livingston and Byrdstown.  It also has a major
materials and parts warehousing facility in Byrdstown.
    A wholly-owned subsidiary of the Total Corporation, Hutchinson SA is a
major global automotive supplier and specialty rubber products company.  It
operates more than 100 processing plants in Europe, North America, South
America and Asia.
    Campbell replaces George D. Mach, who left Hutchinson FTS to pursue other
interests after serving for several years as CEO.
