Mitsubishi Fuso Truck of America Expands into Canada; The First New Market in its Corporate HistoryBRIDGEPORT, N.J., May 13 -- For the first time in its corporate history, Mitsubishi Fuso Truck of America, Inc. (MFTA) is expanding beyond the U.S. border into Canada. Beginning September 1, Mitsubishi Fuso will provide its Class 3 through 7 medium-duty cabover trucks to the Canadian market through MFTA Canada. "This is really history in the making for Mitsubishi Fuso," said Robert E. McDowell, MFTA senior vice president, operations. "It's our first major expansion and we're ready. With top-notch engineering, sales, parts and distribution, Mitsubishi Fuso is ready to make its mark in Canada." Since its introduction into the U.S. market in 1985, MFTA's goal has been to establish Mitsubishi Fuso as a leader in the medium-duty truck industry by providing the best possible customer service and dealer support. "That effort has clearly paid off. Last year Mitsubishi Fuso truck sales climbed to record levels. The next logical step in our growth is to expand our business into Canada," said McDowell. "Mitsubishi Fuso trucks are one of the most durable, reliable medium-duty trucks in the U.S.," he continued. "We're proud to be able to offer the same top quality engineering to Canada. MFTA is fully committed to the North American market." Approximately 25 MFTA dealers will serve the Canadian market, offering Mitsubishi Fuso's trademark customer satisfaction for a wide variety of business needs -- refrigerated delivery, vehicle recovery, route delivery, grounds maintenance, utility and many others. To support both customers and dealers, MFTA will open a Canadian office dedicated to this market's needs, called MFTA Canada. Headquartered in Bridgeport, NJ, Mitsubishi Fuso Truck of America, Inc. markets trucks through over 170 dealer locations throughout the U.S. Over 40,000 Mitsubishi Fuso trucks are in use, fulfilling the transportation needs of a wide variety of businesses and industries.
