Delphi Invests $1 Million in Equipment for Flint Plant
    FLINT, Mich., May 13 -- Delphi Automotive Systems
is investing $1 million in its Flint, Mich., facility, according to Donald L.
Runkle, president of Delphi Energy & Engine Management Systems.
    Delphi will invest $1 million for repair and upgrade of a spark plug kiln
at Delphi's Flint East site.  The project is for tearing down and rebricking
damaged refractories and completing the upgrade of instrument controls.  This
will allow Delphi to maintain the high-quality product and maintain the
business.
    "This investment in our facilities and equipment will allow us to improve
our competitiveness," Runkle said.  "It is essential that we continue to
dedicate capital to projects that will give Delphi Energy a technological edge
heading into the next century.  Investing in upgrading our facilities and
equipment will accomplish this."
