Delphi Invests $600,000 in Equipment for Rochester PlantFLINT, Mich., May 13 -- Delphi Automotive Systems is investing $600,000 in its Rochester, N.Y., facility, according to Donald L. Runkle, president of Delphi Energy & Engine Management Systems. Delphi will invest $600,000 for the first phase of a pilot line for linear exhaust gas recirculation valves for diesel and gas engines. The funds will be used to purchase production tooling and equipment to implement a low-volume production manufacturing process for the product prior to implementation of a high-volume production process. "This investment in our equipment will allow us to better grow the business and improve our competitiveness," Runkle said. "It is essential that we continue to dedicate capital to projects that will give Delphi Energy a technological edge heading into the next century. Investing in upgrading our equipment and processes will accomplish this."
