Borg-Warner Automotive Forms Alliance With Nautitech, Enhancing Design/Engineering Support for Cross-Business Opportunities
    CHICAGO, May 12 -- Borg-Warner Automotive, Inc.
announced today that it has formed an alliance with Nautitech Pty. Ltd. of
Sydney, Australia.
    "This alliance, called Borg-Warner Automotive/Nautitech, will strengthen
BWA's design and engineering expertise in support of advanced powertrain
activities and programs underway in Europe, North America and Asia, as well as
potential initiatives involving the five BWA business groups," said Robert D.
Welding, president and general manager, Borg-Warner Automotive Automatic
Transmission Systems.
    Product areas involving BWA's Automatic Transmission Systems and Air/Fluid
Systems groups, including automatic transmission electrohydraulic controls,
will be BWA/Nautitech's initial focus.
    Chicago-based Borg-Warner Automotive, Inc. is a product leader in highly
engineered components and systems for vehicle powertrain applications
worldwide.  The company operates 54 manufacturing and technical facilities in
13 countries serving worldwide vehicle manufacturers.  Customers include Ford,
DaimlerChrysler, General Motors, Toyota, Caterpillar, Navistar and VW.
