AMETEK Declares Quarterly Dividend of Six Cents Per Share

    PAOLI, Pa., May 12 -- The board of directors of AMETEK Inc.
today declared a regular quarterly dividend of six cents per share
for the second quarter ending June 30, 1999.
    The second quarter dividend is payable June 30, 1999, to stockholders of
record June 16, 1999.
