RS Electronics Honored With Ford's World Excellence Award

    LIVONIA, Mich., May 11 -- RS Electronics received Ford Motor
Company's Recognition of Achievement World Excellence Award, recognizing the
company as one of its top suppliers in the world for 1998 performance.  RS
Electronics was one of 25 companies to receive a special Recognition of
Achievement Award -- and the only non-production materials supplier to be
recognized based on innovative cost savings.
    The World Excellence Achievement Award is a prestigious annual award
honoring Ford production suppliers who have met and exceeded rigorous
standards for performance in cost, quality and delivery as measured by the
Supplier Improvement Metrics (SIM); Commodity-specific metrics are used for
non-production suppliers.  The award was granted to 47 suppliers from seven
countries.
    RS Electronics is part of an exclusive club of Ford's top suppliers.  RS
Electronics made extraordinary contributions to Ford that helped make 1998 a
very successful year and helped deliver high quality and value to Ford's
customers.
    RS Electronics was honored for their efforts in promoting the use of the
RS9600 Electronic Fault Detection Analyzer in Ford's manufacturing process.
The RS9600 Electronic Fault Detection Analyzer was developed jointly by RS
Electronics, Testek, Inc. of Livonia, Michigan, and Huntron Instruments Inc.
of Mill Creek, Washington, and is distributed exclusively by RS Electronics.
