GKN Announces Key Management Appointment: Chambers to Focus on Operations ManagementAUBURN HILLS, Mich., May 11 -- Tom Chambers has been named managing director-operations, Americas, GKN Automotive Driveline Division (GKN ADD), responsible for the overall management of four North American plant operations; GKN AI; and equity ventures in Mexico and South America. The announcement was made by Sarkis Kalyandjian, executive director and chief executive of GKN ADD. "Tom is a seasoned executive who brings extensive experience in general management gained over 30 years in the automotive industry," said Kalyandjian. "He brings skills to enhance our customer focus and operations management -- we're excited that he's a part of our team." For the past six years, Chambers worked for ITT Automotive, most recently as president of the company's electrical systems business responsible for six plants in the Americas and seven in Europe. The majority of Chambers' career was spent with General Motors, including senior positions with the Delco Chassis Division and managing director of General Motors, France.
