ZAP Signs Agreement with Baywatch

SEBASTOPOL, Calif.--May 11, 1999--Leading electric vehicle manufacturer ZAP Power Systems (OTCBB:ZAPP) announced that it has signed a licensing agreement with Pearson Entertainment and The Baywatch Production Company for its ZAPPY(tm) electric scooter and ZAP electric bicycles.
The agreement gives ZAP the exclusive right to develop electric vehicle products utilizing the Baywatch name and logo. In addition, ZAP products should be appearing in episodes of Baywatch.
The association with Baywatch is certain to bring ZAP to the attention of audiences worldwide. Now in its ninth season, Baywatch has handily won the title as the "Most Popular Show on Earth," with over one billion viewers each week in 140 countries on six continents translated into 32 languages.
Each year, the stars of Baywatch go through 306 pounds of body makeup, one 50 gallon drum of sunscreen, 575 swimsuits, 129 surfboards and now at least one ZAPPY and one ZAP bike. ZAP bikes and scooters are becoming a popular form of alternative transportation and ZAP says the association with Baywatch is a natural.
"There is an environmental tie between our ZAP bikes and customers in beach communities," said ZAP managing director Gary Starr. "We believe our association with Baywatch will further expand this market and help highlight that electric vehicles are now practical and fun."
ZAP is a publicly owned company with stock trading over the counter under the symbol ZAPP. For more information on ZAP, its franchises or for ordering an electric vehicle, go to http://www.zapbikes.com. For more information on Baywatch, visit their web site at http://www.baywatchtv.com.
