    SOUTHFIELD, Mich., May 10 -- Lear Corporation
today announced the appointment of Albert E. Billis to Senior Vice President
and President - Manufacturing Operations Division, reporting to Douglas D.
DelGrosso, President - North American Operations.

    In this new position, Billis is responsible for integrating and directing
Lear's Interior Systems Group, Structural Systems Division and the Interior
Systems International business of newly acquired United Technologies
Automotive.
    Billis joined Lear in 1998 after more than 35 years at General Motors
Corporation, where he most recently served as general director of engineering
for GM's Delphi Automotive Systems' Interior and Lighting Systems division, a
position he had held since November 1991.  Prior to that he served as director
of the seat systems business unit and director of materials management and
quality assurance.
    Billis graduated from General Motors Institute (GMI, now Kettering
University) with a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering and
earned a masters in business administration from Stanford University under the
Sloan Fellowship Program.
    He and his wife Jane, who have four children, reside in Lake Orion, MI.
