    PARIS--May 10, 1999--Andre Navarri will join the Valeo Group on May 31, 1999 in the newly created position of Chief Operating Officer. He will report directly to Noel Goutard, Chairman and CEO of Valeo.
    Andre Navarri, 47 years old, graduate of the Ecole Centrale Paris has spent the majority of his career with Alstom. He joined in 1979 as an export engineer, and was successively promoted to the positions of Deputy Managing Director of Unindo, in Jakarta from 1982 to 1986, then Industrial Director of the Large Power Transformers Unit.
    In 1992, Andre Navarri was appointed Managing Director of the Equipment Business within the Transport Sector and subsequently Chairman of the Transport Sector at the beginning of 1996.
