New Mercury Leader to Focus on Brand's Future
IRVINE, Calif., May 6 -- Lincoln Mercury today announced the
appointment of Jennifer Moneagle as the new Mercury group brand manager.
Ms. Moneagle previously was regional sales manager in Chicago, where Mercury
boasts high sales volumes by differing car lines.
"As a brand in transition, Mercury needs a bold visionary to carry it
forward," said Mark Hutchins, Lincoln Mercury president. "Jennifer's
appointment is the next logical progression in the development of the
Mercury brand."
Ms. Moneagle is the first woman to be named as group brand manager for
Mercury.
In addition, under her leadership, Chicago regional retail sales for
Mercury cars were up 21 percent and total Mercury car and truck retail sales
were up 19 percent through the end of the first quarter in 1999.
"Jennifer is a valuable addition to the Mercury team with her proven
success in sales," said Jim Rogers, Lincoln Mercury general marketing manager.
"For example, under her guidance, Chicago has become our number one regional
retail sales leader for Cougar. Obviously, she has a clear understanding of
how to market this vehicle and we want her to apply that expertise to all
Mercury vehicle lines."
Ms. Moneagle will be responsible for all sales, pricing, marketing and
advertising across the entire Mercury lineup.
"I am looking forward to the challenges of my new position and working
with a pioneering team," said Jennifer Moneagle. "The Mercury brand has great
potential for growth and redefinition. I could not have asked for a better
opportunity."
The Mercury product line includes the Mountaineer, Villager, Grand
Marquis, Mystique, Tracer, Sable and the hot new Cougar. For information on
