Best-Ever April Sales Reported by Toyota's Kansas City Region
    KANSAS CITY, Mo., May 6 -- Toyota's Kansas City Region posted
record car sales in April of 2,363 vehicles, an 8 percent increase over April
1998 when vehicle sales totaled 1,630.
    Combined car and truck sales totaled 2,628, a 5 percent increase over
2,509 vehicles sold in April 1998.
    "Our North American-built Camry and Sienna, as well as the Toyota 4Runner
and RAV4 all contributed to a record sales month for 1999," said Bruce
Ertmann, general manager of the Kansas City Region.  "Camry sales jumped 18
percent, while Sienna sales improved by 15 percent.  Toyota 4Runner and RAV4
had sales increases of 21 percent and 16 percent, respectively."
    "A strong economy and consumer confidence enabled our dealers to mirror
the entire Toyota Division by recording their best-ever April sales," Ertmann
said.
    The Toyota Kansas City Region includes 74 dealers in Iowa, Kansas, South
and North Dakota, Missouri and Nebraska.
