PG Design Electronics Begins Production on Automotive Product OrderCHICAGO, May 5 -- Edwin Jacobson, President and CEO of Heartland Technology, Inc. (Amex: HTI) announced today that Heartland Technology's subsidiary PG Design Electronics has begun production on an initial $4.5 million order for an automotive product. Chesterfield, Mich.-based PG Design will be assembling a liquid crystal display unit. "This order stems from our efforts to expand our products and customer base for our contract manufacturing business," said Jacobson. Heartland Technology, primarily through its subsidiaries PG Design Electronics, Inc., Solder Station-One, Inc. and Zecal Corp., designs and manufactures electronics assemblies primarily for computer and computer printer manufacturers; manufactures circuit boards using patented Z-Strate(R) technology primarily for industrial, automotive and telecommunications manufacturers; and provides services to printed circuit board manufacturers. The Company's strategy is to focus on high margin segments of the electronics manufacturing and printed circuit board industries.
