Hyundai April Retail Sales Best Since 1995

    FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., May 3 -- Hyundai Motor America today
announced sales of 10,685 vehicles for the month of April.
    "The month of April maintained our retail sales momentum as we posted a
96 percent increase compared to April of last year," said Hyundai Motor
America's Vice President of Sales, Robert Cosmai.
    "Year to date total sales are up 27.8 percent compared to 1998. The
Elantra continues to be the volume carline posting 4,503 sales which are up
99 percent over last April. Sonata sales continue to strengthen with a
19 percent increase over last year-to-date," Cosmai also noted.
