Daewoo Sales Continue to Grow in April
COMPTON, Calif.--May 3, 1999--Sales of Daewoo automobiles continue to increase on a steady basis as the number of retail sales outlets continues to grow in the U.S.Daewoo Motor America announced sales of 2006 units for the month of April. The company sold 671 Lanos sub-compact models; 406 Nubira compact models and 929 Leganza mid-size models during the 26-day sales period.
Daewoo Motor America now has a total of 47 retail sales outlets; 21 company-owned retail stores and 26 franchise dealers in 16 states. The company is continuing its aggressive sales distribution activities with the scheduled opening of additional company-owned stores and franchise dealers in May.
As Daewoo moves into a market area, the company's first priority is to establish a service network. Daewoo uses company-owned base stores, franchise dealers, and Authorized Service Centers to perform scheduled maintenance and warranty service. Daewoo's extensive service network now totals 304 outlets, which includes 21 Daewoo base stores, 211 Penske Auto Centers, 57 Cross Country Group service centers and 15 independent service centers.
Daewoo Motor America is the U.S. automotive sales arm of Daewoo Group based in Seoul, South Korea.
