Saab 1999 Year-to-Date Sales Up 34 Percent; Saab Continues Momentum with Strong April Sales
NORCROSS, Ga., May 3 -- Saab Cars USA, Inc., the U.S.
importer and distributor of Saab 9-3 and 9-5 automobiles, announced sales of
2,700 units during April 1999, a strong effort that helps Saab continue its
sales momentum for 1999. Year to date, Saab sales are up 34 percent over the
same period in 1998 (11,084 vs. 8,244).
Saab 9-5 sales remain strong, thanks in part to the introduction of the
Saab 9-5 Wagon. In its first month, 214 units of the all-new 9-5 Wagon --
which provides many innovative features like Saab's Cargo Tracks(TM) and an
available sliding load floor -- were retailed. In addition, demand remained
high for the top-of-the-line 9-5 V6 model (412 units).
Overall, April 1999 sales of the Saab 9-5 (1,079 units) were up
significantly over last year when 399 units of Saab 9000 variants were
retailed.
Saab 9-3 sales also remained strong with 1,597 units sold in April.
Saab's 9-3 model line accounted for 69 percent of total March sales.
Saab Cars USA, Inc. is headquartered in Norcross, Ga., near Atlanta.
