Dana's Columbia, Missouri, Light Axle Facility Earns 1998 Isuzu Quality Achievement Award

    COLUMBIA, Mo., May 3 -- Dana Corporation
announced today that its Columbia, Mo., Spicer Light Vehicle Axle Division
facility has been honored by Subaru-Isuzu Automotive Inc. (SIA) with its 1998
Quality Achievement Award.
    The Quality Achievement Award recognizes select suppliers providing
consistent quality and responsiveness to SIA.  The award was presented to Dana
by Hitoshi Maeda, President and CEO of Subaru-Isuzu Automotive, at a ceremony
in West Lafayette, Ind.
    The Columbia light vehicle axle facility provides rear axles for the Isuzu
Rodeo sport utility vehicle.
    "This award is a tremendous honor in that it recognizes the quality
relationship we have built with SIA since we began working together in 1993,"
said Columbia Plant Manager Lynn Ray.  "Continuous improvement is a major
focus of the people at Columbia and this quality award is certainly an
outgrowth of that commitment."
    In addition to supplying Isuzu's Rodeo, Dana people at Columbia
manufacture axle products for the Ford Explorer and Ranger; DaimlerChrysler's
Dodge Ram, Dakota, Durango, and Viper; the Isuzu Trooper; and the Rover
Freelander.
    The Columbia light vehicle axle facility is part of Dana's Automotive Axle
Products Group, consisting of more than 20 manufacturing, assembly, and
research and development facilities in 16 nations.  The axle group is part of
Dana's Automotive Systems Group, which provides axles, driveshafts, structural
products, clutches and brakes, and modules and systems for a $30 billion
global marketplace.  The Automotive Systems Group had combined 1998 sales of
$4.3 billion.
