Reynolds and Reynolds Wins Kaiser Permanente Gold Award

    DAYTON, Ohio--May 3, 1999--Kaiser Permanente presented The Reynolds and Reynolds Company with the Supplier of the Year Gold Award at Kaiser Permanente's Strategic Supplier Conference in Berkeley, Calif.
    Recognized as top supplier in the non-medical category, Reynolds and Reynolds is the primary provider of comprehensive document management services for Kaiser Permanente's six divisions and its Hawaii region. Kaiser Permanente, based in Oakland, Calif., is the country's largest not-for-profit health maintenance organization, serving 8.6 million members in 17 states and the District of Columbia.
    As part of Kaiser Permanente's Supplier Quality Management (SQM) initiative, the awards program recognizes suppliers who have made the most outstanding contributions in three categories -- medical, non-medical and information technology. Other Gold Award winners were Roche Diagnostics for the medical category, and Cisco Systems for information technology.

    The Kaiser Permanente SQM initiative focuses on process, product and service performance; critical performance criteria; and continuous improvement and relationship building.
