American Axle & Manufacturing Elects New Board Members And Announces Executive ChangesDETROIT, May 3 -- American Axle & Manufacturing Holdings, Inc. announces the election of two new members to its board of directors: Forest J. Farmer Sr., chairman, CEO & president of the Farmer Group, and Robert L. Friedman, senior managing director of The Blackstone Group. Mr. Farmer is the chairman, CEO & president of the Farmer Group, a holding company of four technology and manufacturing corporations. Prior to that, he served as president & CEO of Bing Manufacturing Inc., LLC., a joint venture company he formed with Detroit entrepreneur Dave Bing and automotive dealership businessman Mel Farr. Farmer retired from Chrysler in 1994 after 26 years including six years as president of its automotive parts subsidiary, Acustar. He serves on the boards of directors of more than a dozen corporations and organizations including St. John's Hospital System, Saturn Electronics Corporation, and 100 Black Men of Greater Detroit. Mr. Friedman joined The Blackstone Group earlier this year after a 32-year career at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett. In his capacity with Simpson Thacher & Bartlett, he was one of America's leading attorneys specializing in mergers and acquisitions, and he served as Blackstone's lead counsel since Blackstone's founding in 1985. He works primarily in Blackstone's Principal Investment Group. With the addition of these two new members, the board of American Axle & Manufacturing Holdings, Inc. increases to seven members. Executive changes announced American Axle & Manufacturing Holdings, Inc. also announces three executive changes. * Gary J. Witosky to president & chief operating officer, Colfor Manufacturing, Inc. Witosky formerly served as vice president, Finance, and chief financial officer. It is expected that an appointment to this position will be made in the near future. * Robert A. Krause to acting interim chief financial officer, while continuing in his role as treasurer. * Yogendra N. Rahangdale to vice president, Manufacturing Services, American Axle & Manufacturing, Inc. from executive director, Manufacturing Services.
