Federal-Mogul Receives Chrysler's Gold Pentastar AwardSOUTHFIELD, Mich., May 3 -- Federal-Mogul Corporation's , Waupun, Wisconsin, facility has received its second Gold Pentastar Award from Chrysler. The award, presented by Chrysler's purchasing and quality departments, recognizes suppliers for outstanding achievement in several areas, including quality, delivery and warranty performance. For the 1998 model year, the Waupun facility, which is the largest manufacturer of valve seat inserts and valve guides in North America, achieved scores of 100, 99 and 100 for quality, delivery and warranty, respectively. The manufacturing facility shipped over 30 million parts to Chrysler in 1998 on time, with no defects. "This award reflects our company's commitment to quality and responsiveness," said Frank Tomes, executive vice president, General Products. "It shows that we are, as our corporate purpose states, 'people serving customers through manufacturing mastery.'"
